Generalist Physician Health Services Researcher – Multiple Positions – Minneapolis VA Healthcare System:
The Center for Care Delivery & Outcomes Research (CCDOR) within the Minneapolis Veterans Affairs Healthcare System is seeking highly qualified family or internal medicine physician health services researchers for two full-time positions: a mid/senior career Associate Director and an early career Physician Investigator. CCDOR’s mission is to improve Veterans’ health and well-being by designing, evaluating, and implementing healthcare interventions in collaboration with Veterans and healthcare system partners. CCDOR is a collaborative, multidisciplinary center that includes investigators focused on trauma recovery and posttraumatic stress disorder, chronic pain, opioid use disorder, implementation science, and other conditions. It houses Health Services Research and VA Quality Scholars advanced fellowships. The Minneapolis VA is a major teaching hospital affiliated with the University of Minnesota; candidates will be eligible for a faculty appointment commensurate with their qualifications.
Positions include substantial protected time for research; the Associate Director position includes time for administrative responsibilities. Responsibilities include obtaining grant funding as PI, publishing in peer-reviewed journals, conducting center and national service, and mentoring as appropriate to career stage. Physicians are expected to provide 20% clinical effort (primary care clinic or inpatient). At the Minneapolis VA, primary care physicians care for a panel of patients in a team-based environment that offers integrated mental health, pharmacy, and physical therapy services.

Required Qualifications:
- MD and current, full and unrestricted license to practice medicine or surgery in a State, Territory, or Commonwealth of the United States, or in the District of Columbia
- BC/BE in Internal or Family Medicine
- Excellent interpersonal communication and creative problem-solving skills
- Ability to work with multidisciplinary teams
- Peer reviewed publication history
- Demonstrated training (early career) or expertise (mid/senior career) in health care delivery improvement, implementation science, or health services research
- Ability to obtain (early career) or demonstrated history of successfully obtaining (mid/senior-career) extramural research funding
· For Associate Director: Demonstrated leadership skills and experience working in and fostering a diverse environment. Proven trainee and faculty mentorship skills
