General Internal Medicine (Outpatient) – Faculty Opportunities The Department of Medicine, Section of General Internal Medicine at the Lewis Katz School of Medicine at Temple University is seeking qualified applicants with a background and experience in General Internal Medicine for full time faculty position(s). The mission of the Section of General Internal Medicine at LKSOM at Temple University is to provide excellence in patient care, education and research. Our General Internal Medicine faculty provide comprehensive, patient-centered care to our patients in outpatient primary care settings, while teaching the fundamentals of general internal medicine to the health care providers of the future. Members of the Section of General Internal Medicine also play key roles in the care of patients with HIV and hepatitis C. Faculty are involved in numerous innovative educational and research programs in areas such as clinical skills training, physician-patient communications, ambulatory medical education and clinical trials. Currently there are 24 full-time faculty whose interests include medical education, obesity, HIV, integrative medicine, social determinants of health, trauma-informed care, medication-assisted therapies, palliative care and geriatrics. Salary and rank will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. Candidates must be an M.D., D.O. or foreign equivalent and must have completed an accredited residency in internal medicine prior to their start date. Ability to obtain medical licensure in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania is also required prior to the beginning of employment. Active board certification or board eligibility in Internal Medicine also required.
