Academic Internist/Outpatient Practice Medical Director

The General Internal Medicine Division of the Department of Medicine at the University of Maryland School of Medicine seeks a Medical Director to lead the General Internal Medicine ambulatory practice at the University of Maryland Medical Center-Midtown Campus (UMMC- MTC). Clinical responsibilities will include managing a panel of patients in primary care as well as participating in call coverage with other members of the team. This position will also provide educational supervision to medical students and residents, as the site serves as the ambulatory continuity practice for the UMMC-MTC Internal Medicine residency. Administratively, this position will be responsible for leading and managing the practice, engaging in outreach and education as well as service projects to provide visibility and benefit to the community, and seeking a multidisciplinary approach with other service providers to optimize patient experience and outcomes. Expected faculty rank is Assistant Professor or higher, however, final rank, tenure status and salary will be commensurate with the selected candidate’s qualifications and experience. Candidates must be board certified/eligible in internal medicine and eligible for an unrestricted license to practice medicine the State of Maryland. This position requires a medical degree from a recognized accredited domestic university (or foreign equivalent), a strong commitment to patient care and teaching, and the ability to work well in a team setting. Experience in practice management and administration is strongly desired. |
