The Baylor Scott & White Medical Psychology Consultants have an immediate opening for a full-time licensed clinical psychologist to join our growing service. Based in a large, urban hospital in Dallas, TX, our providers work as part of an interdisciplinary clinical team with exposure to a diverse patient population. This position will focus on serving patients in the Advanced Heart Failure and Advanced Lung Disease clinics. Clinical responsibilities include pre-surgical (e.g., transplant, LVAD) evaluations, outpatient psychotherapy, inpatient consultation, and collaboration with the multidisciplinary teams. There are also opportunities to participate in program development, supervision, and research.
Candidates for this position should have a doctorate in Clinical, Counseling, or Health Psychology from an APA-accredited program and be licensed or license-eligible in Texas. Board certification or qualification towards board certification status strongly desirable. Experience in medical, health, or rehabilitation psychology and neuropsychological assessment is preferred.
- Functions in the role of a clinical psychologist to provide assessment and intervention services for individuals referred by the heart and lung failure teams. The setting will be primarily outpatient but will include the inpatient setting as well.
- Provides comprehensive assessments evaluating psychological, cognitive, and behavioral factors and provide recommendations regarding appropriateness for surgery to the referring surgeon and treatment team.
- Collaborates with the multidisciplinary team to exchange information regarding evaluations and treatment of patients to assure comprehensive, effective, and efficient service delivery.
- Conducts educational programs for patients, families, providers, other special groups, and general public.
- Provides cross-coverage as needed for other service line areas provided by Baylor Medical Psychology Consultants including trauma, critical care, OB/GYN, palliative care, internal medicine, and others.

QUALIFICATIONS:
- Doctoral degree in Clinical, Counseling, or Health Psychology from an APA-accredited program
- Licensed or license-eligible to practice in the state of Texas
- ABPP board certification or qualification towards board certification status strongly desirable
