ChristianaCare is hiring for an Physician Assistant to join the inpatient OBGYN Physician Assistants Group as part of OBGYN Services. This is a full time day/evening position working 10 hour days with weekend rounding and call requirements. The hired physician assistant will take from home call in rotation with other members every 4th night and every 4th weekend, which on weekends is to include morning rounding. The OBGYN Physician Assistants Group provides services at both hospitals as well as our primary care sites.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
-Admit patients on behalf of the supervising physician
-Complete history and physicals
-Developing treatment plans
-Making rounds at the direction of the supervising physician
-Recording of progress notes
-Ordering, assessing and interpreting diagnostic tests, and therapeutic modalities, such as medications, treatments and examinations
-Initiating referral to appropriate physician or other healthcare professional
-Instructing, educating, and counseling patients and families concerning health status, test results, disease process, and discharge planning
-Discharge planning
-Obtaining consents for procedures for which privileges are held
-Core duties may include but are not limited to: IV placement, blood draws, injections, dressing changes, OB and GYN procedures, wound closures, removal of sutures, debridement of wound infections, removal of foreign bodies
-Procedures may include but not limited to: Biopsy (cervical, endometrial, skin, vaginal, vulvar), cystoscopy, Pelvic floor training, pessary insertion and removal, Provider performed microscopy (urine, KOH, Wet Prep), AROM, BPP, Circumcision of Newborn, colposcopy, Fetal Scalp Electrode Placement, Hysterosalpingogram, Insertion of Foley bulb for induction, insertion and removal of subdermal contraception, IUD placement, Intrauterine Pressure Catheter Placement, Ultrasound
-Surgery first and second assist in the operating room including but not limited to Davinci robotics, laparoscopic, and open procedures as well as cesarean sections.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
-Licensure or license eligible for Delaware
-NCCPA Certification
-BLS, ACLS, NRP, OBIS training for EFM, US in OB GYN
