DescriptionCCHMC SALARY GRADE:REPRESENTATIVE RESPONSIBILITIESAssociate Professor/Professor Critical Care Medicine Division DirectorThe primary responsibility of the Critical Care Medicine Professor Division Director is to provide leadership for interdisciplinary medical programs of patient service, research, professional training, outreach, and teaching of Critical Care medicine for a Medical Center dedicated to the care of infants, children, and adolescents. Whereas the primary responsibility of the Critical Care Medicine Associate Professor is to provide leadership for assigned clinical program area with responsibility for clinical care, research, education and administration. Supports the organization's commitment to be the leader in improving child health by developing and leading programs and initiatives that will promote disciplined research and discourse related to the broad spectrum of issues and implications in medical care, education and research.???
Clinical ExcellenceParticipates in and/or leads ongoing educational activities for continued enhancement of clinical expertise.

Effective CommunicationProvide for the exchange of appropriate patient care and clinical information when patients are admitted, referred, transferred, or discharged. Provide data which will contribute to the assessment of a patient's needs, the organization's capability to provide care or treatment and the appropriate level of care.

Training and EducationParticipates in the training and education of medical students, residents, fellows, faculty, community Psychologists and/or staff, when possible. Attends clinical rounds, medical lectures, grand rounds, and other conferences, as assigned.

Policy ComplianceMaintains good standing in the department by compliance to licensure and credentialing criteria. Comply with policies and procedures protecting patient rights for informed consent and the handling of confidential information as defined by Cincinnati Children's mission and applicable laws and regulations. Follow Cincinnati Children's established code of ethical behavior in decisions and actions regarding marketing, admission, transfer, discharge, and billing. Skills & CompetenciesComprehensive knowledge of principles and practices of pediatrics, clinical, translational, basic research program, clinical fellowship program, community organization, and relevant federal and state laws and regulations; ability to plan, organize, administer, implement, and evaluate the interdisciplinary programs (education, service, research/demonstration, etc.) within the assigned area and Cincinnati Children's. Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills. Ability to work cooperatively and effectively with people at all levels of the medical center, as well as individuals nationally and internationally. May require the ability to teach at a university level, prepare grants, contracts, conduct research, and publish in refereed journals.

QualificationsEDUCATION/EXPERIENCEAssociate Professor EDUCATION/EXPERIENCERequired: - M.D. degree from an accredited school of medicine with an active State of Ohio Medical Board license, and/or PhD in a directly related clinical or research filed.
- Experience in area of specialization include working in an interdisciplinary setting, medical clinic facilities involving a culturally diverse population, university teaching, research, grantsmanship, and publications
- May require subspecialty training in the specific clinical area
- Seven to ten years of managerial experience or equivalent
- Five to seven years of clinical experience
Preferred: - Prior experience in a complex academic medical setting strongly preferred.
- Board Certification
- Prior experience in a leadership capacity
Professor EDUCATION/EXPERIENCERequired: - M.D. degree from an accredited school of medicine, or PhD.
- Medical doctors must have an active State of Ohio Medical Board license and board certification
- Extensive experience in area of specialization include working in an interdisciplinary setting, medical clinic facilities involving a culturally diverse population, university teaching, research, grantsmanship, and publications
- Ten years of experience in a leadership capacity
- May require subspecialty training in the specific clinical area
Preferred: - Prior experience in a complex academic medical setting.
