Position Summary
Join Phoenix Children’s Pediatric Dermatology team! Position available for a full time Pediatric Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assisstant.
Clinical time is typically Monday through Friday from 8am to 5pm, or when clinic duties and patient care is completed
This position requires inpatient service/hospital coverage and after-hours coverage as needed
This is a very busy practice with complex pediatric patients. We have 4 attendings, APPs, and rotating residents/students and fellows
Must be able to work autonomously after initial specialty training
Procedures for inpatient/outpatient include cryotherapy, injections, shave and punch biopsies, microscopy (for hair, infestations, and fungal elements), and contact sensitization
Medical photography and use of digital media required, with training provided
Dermoscopy skills required (and can be introduced as part of training)
Appropriate and timely documentation is required as well as sign off completed charts/orders
Teaching and participation in department PSQI initiatives and conferences is required.
Qualifications:
At least 2-3 years of NP/PA experience in pediatrics and/or dermatology experience preferred
This position works in collaboration with the attending physicians and works within their scope of practice to provide excellent clinical care for patients. Plays a critical role in the patient family medical team. Professional who may practice in hospital’s inpatient and/or outpatient setting.
Education
- Master's or Doctorate degree from an Accreditation Commission for Nursing (ACEN) and/or Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE) accredited graduate school of nursing in Pediatric Acute care, Pediatric primary care or Family Medicine OR Master's degree from nationally accredited ARC-PA program. (Required)
Certifications
- Current BLS certification for Healthcare Provider from the American Heart Association or obtained by start date. (Required)
- Current State of Arizona certification as a Nurse Practitioner OR Current State of Arizona certification as a Physician Assistant or obtained by start date. (Required)
- National board certification to match area of education OR maintain certificate in National Commission on Certification for Physician Assistants (NCCPA). (Required)
Special Skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills, strong verbal communication, and basic computer skills. (Required)
