Northwell Health’s Division of Geriatric Medicine is seeking an academic Geriatrician to join the Stern Family Center for Rehabilitation in Manhasset, New York.
The Stern Family Center for Rehabilitation is an award-winning 252-bed skilled nursing facility providing short-term sub-acute inpatient rehabilitation and skilled nursing services. It is ranked as one of the top nursing facilities in New York State. Awarded a five out of five-star rating for overall quality from the federal government’s U.S. Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, and is in the top 10% of nursing facilities in the country.
In addition, Stern has received top ranking by Newsweek in their Best Nursing Homes 2020 Report and by US News & World Report in their Best Nursing Homes 2019-2020 publication. These prestigious rankings demonstrate Stern’s commitment to exceptional quality of life and care requirements for our patients. Our team is comprised of a mixed model of physicians; both employed and voluntary, two nurse practitioners and an annual rotation of geriatric fellows. The candidate will participate in the teaching of medical students, residents, and fellows. Research opportunities also exist. Our physicians have access to subspecialties through North Shore University Hospital.
The ideal candidate will be board certified/board eligible in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine with subspecialty boards in Geriatrics and will have an interest in academics, stimulating cases, transitional care, and sub-acute rehabilitation.
