Practice Description
Fairview Heath Services is seeking a Nurse Practitioner (NP) to join the Heart Center Team at the University of Minnesota Masonic Children's Hospital in the management of patients in the Pediatric Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU). Our CVICU staff uses a team approach to care for children and collaborates with various pediatric subspecialists and multidisciplinary experts providing comprehensive health care services to CVICU patients and families. Positive work environment is fostered by the supportive relationships within the cardiac critical care team.
Practice Details:
- Openings: 1.0
- Every fourth weekend requirement; holiday and evening coverage required.
- The NP will participate in quality improvement initiatives, research and Heart Center committees
- Fully integrated Electronic Medical Record (EPIC)

Qualifications
- Graduate of a school of nursing and accredited Pediatric or Family Nurse Practitioner training program
- BC/BE through the AANP, ANCC, or PNCB
- Licensed or ability to obtain APRN license with the Minnesota Board of Nursing
- Ability to obtain and /or maintain DEA certification for the State of Minnesota
- Meet threshold criteria/qualifications for Credentialing and Privileges (if required)
- A minimum of 3 years of experience as an RN and previous ICU nursing experience required.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Acute care certification
- Previous NP experience strongly preferred

University of Minnesota Masonic Children's Hospital is located on the west bank of the Mississippi River in Minneapolis. We provide a broad range of pediatric programs from surgery, imaging and neonatal and pediatric intensive care to cardiac and oncology (cancer care) services and blood and marrow and organ transplantation.
The CVICU is a dedicated 12 bed unit caring for critically ill infants, children and adolescents with congenital and acquired heart disease. The CVICU supports a growing Heart Center which includes congenital heart surgeons, a cardiac transplant program, and an ECMO program with a full range of VAD capabilities.
