The Medical Director of Integrative Medicine is a key member of the clinical leadership team who shares responsibility for clinical outcomes with other members of the team. The Medical Director of Integrative Medicine is responsible for improving the quality and efficiency of medical care in his/her areas of responsibility. The Medical Director for Integrative Medicine is also responsible for the oversight of the following:
Primary Responsibilities:
- Responsible for the design, implementation, and success of the integrative medicine proof of concept developing new innovative approaches to making healthcare more meaningful to PCPs and patients alike.
- Develops successful replication plan to expand integrative medicine to multiple sites/markets.
- Develops and maintains collegial relationships with employed and contracted physicians communicating and cascading innovative approaches and clinical outcomes.
- Implements initiatives ensuring safe, evidenced-based, cost effective outcomes.
- Provides consultations for integrative medicine techniques in Evidence Based Medicine (EBM) to include: acupuncture, meditation, and lifestyle coaching for pain, resiliency, and chronic disease (diabetes, migraines); special diet services and medical weight loss.
- Develops and provides individual and group acupuncture treatments for patients and employees.
- Supports palliative care physicians through consultations and education on integrative medicine tools and techniques.
- Conducts educational sessions for leaders, clinicians, patients, and public on the benefits of integrative medicine, integrative oncology, and integrative pain management services.
- Attends and actively engages in leadership meetings as requested.
- Mentors and coaches integrative medicine team and assists with recruitment, retention, and development.
- Works in matrix relationship with: Quality, Cost and Care, QRA/Care 360 and other matrix partners.
- Performs all other related duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
- Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) or Doctor of Osteopathy (D.O.)
- Current board certification
- Active, unrestricted medical license in applicable state(s), or ability to obtain licenses rapidly
- Valid DEA
- 5+ years of clinical experience

Preferred Qualifications:
- 2+ years of managed care experience
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) fluency
