Mercy Care has an exciting full time employment opportunity for a Board Certified or Board Eligible Family Medicine physician to join an exceptional team providing care for the underserved population in Atlanta, Georgia.
Under the Direction of the Director of Primary Care Services, the selected physician will be responsible for providing direct patient care, as well as direction, supervision and provider consultation to Saint Josephs Mercy Care fixed and mobile clinics. The Staff physician will work collaboratively with the Director of Primary Care Services to support compliance with HRSA program requirements, CARF, and other regulatory agencies. The staff physician will actively participate in Mercy Care quality improvement efforts and positively contribute to meeting organizational goals and excellence in clinical quality and process measures. Additionally, the position shall work in the Early Intervention Clinic providing primary care.
This opportunity also works collaboratively with the Director of ID services and the Manager of ID Services by supporting clinical activities to meet compliance with Ryan White A & C program requirements and excellence in the clinical quality measures for the Early Intervention Clinic (EIC) services provided by Mercy Care. The Staff Physician shall work to foster excellence in team performance by serving as the clinical leader in the team-based model of care.
The selected candidate will provide patient care and/ or support activities appropriate to ages served; primarily for infant age 0-1 year, child ages 1-12 years or adolescent ages 13-17 years; and adults ages 18-65 or geriatric patients ages over 65.
The schedule for this opportunity includes shared on-call coverage duties with participation in health fairs or community events on weekends as requested three to four times a year.
Successful candidate must have at least five years medical experience as a licensed physician. Familiarity and experience in treating medically underserved populations, general primary care, and transgender and HIV status clients. Experience in the supervision of professional staff and experience dealing with patients of diverse backgrounds. Clinical expertise and competence in providing direct services and medical consultation is also required.
