WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR:
We are looking for Board Eligible/Board Certified Academic Internal Medicine physicians to work as Hospitalists on our Internal Medicine teaching service. As academic attending physicians, teaching hospitalists train medical residents and students for our ACGME accredited Internal Medicine program.
Our ideal candidate will:
Serve as a role model for our residents and students
Bring passion to teaching at the bedside and in didactic sessions
Engage in clinical research, lecturing, and publishing in the medical literature
WHAT WE NEED:
Ideal candidates are Internal Medicine physicians who want to be a part of the Hospitalist Program in Olympia Fields, IL, as a Teaching Hospitalist. Faculty positions will require a minimum of three years of teaching experience in addition to completion of residency, a strong focus on clinical excellence and primary teaching functions. Teach in a community hospital setting with no publishing requirements. Candidates will display exceptional interpersonal skills and desire to develop strong ties with the community and existing medical staff.
WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT:
Schedule: Â 7 On/ 7 Off; 7:00 a.m. â“ 7:00 p.m.
Inpatient volume: 16 - 18 patients per day as subject to GME caps
Must have three years of teaching experience post residency
ACLS/BLS required
Epic electronic health record
Dedicated Critical Care staff and Fellows provide critical care coverage in our closed 31-bed ICU
12 Fellowship/Residency Programs at Franciscan Health Olympia Fields in addition to IM
A Capital investment of $170 million campus renovation of the Olympia Fields hospital

Specialty Physician of Illinois, LLC is the employed medical group at Franciscan Health Olympia Fields, which is the largest academic medical center in the south Chicago suburbs. We sponsor General Internal Medicine and Critical Care, Gastroenterology, Hematology-Oncology, and Rheumatology. We also sponsor ACGME-accredited GME programs in Emergency Medicine, General Surgery, Orthopedics, Radiology (diagnostic), and Urology.
We have nearly 160 post-graduate trainees and host clinical rotations for medical students and other allied health professionals from Midwestern University and the Chicago College of Osteopathic Medicine.
