The University of Colorado School of Medicine invites nominations and applications for the position of Director, ACCORDS (Adult and Child Center for Outcomes Research and Delivery Science).
We are seeking an individual committed to sustaining and augmenting the school’s excellence in education, research, and clinical care, with an emphasis on equity and inclusivity. The Director of ACCORDS provides strategic direction, vision, and operational leadership to ensure growth in innovative research methods, research funding, and faculty training and mentorship. The director oversees campus and national education in later-phase translational science (e.g. T3-T4), leads a team of 11 program and core directors, 58 faculty investigators, and reports to the Dean of the School of Medicine.
The Center supports innovative and interdisciplinary research by investigators from multiple disciplines, some who have their primary office at ACCORDS and others based in other academic units while collaborating with ACCORDS personnel, programs, and cores. The Center maintains an array of programs and its cores support development of new projects, grant proposals by faculty, and consultations with investigators.
The University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus, one of four campuses in the University of Colorado System, is the major academic medical center in the Rocky Mountain region, and one of the largest and most comprehensive biomedical research and clinical care centers in the western United States. The Anschutz Medical Campus is home to an NCI-designated Comprehensive Cancer Center, clinical partners UCHealth University of Colorado Hospital, Children’s Hospital Colorado, and the Rocky Mountain Regional Veterans Affairs Medical Center.
The CU School of Medicine has innovative education and training programs, highly regarded clinical programs, and distinctive and highly productive research programs fueled by more than $577 million annually in grants. The school employs nearly 4,000 faculty and has nearly 1,000 faculty members employed by affiliated institutions. The school’s total annual clinical and research revenue is about $2 billion per year. In addition, the school and its supporters have invested significant resources in research programs, including the recently created Center for Health Artificial Intelligence.
