The Department of Pediatrics at Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine is seeking a full-time, board-certified pediatrician at the rank of Instructor or Assistant Professor to serve as a Clinician-Educator in the Division of Advanced General Pediatrics and Primary Care. Clinician-Educators in the Division of Advanced General Pediatrics and Primary Care are responsible for providing high quality clinical care for our patients and their families, participating in the education of our Pediatric Residents and Fellows, and participating in research and advocacy initiatives across the Division. Ideal candidates will have experience and/or interest in caring for children with complex medical, social, and behavioral needs. There may also be an opportunity for the Clinician-Educator to care for patients in the Lurie Children’s Care Now (LCCN) program, which is a program designed to address the issue of long subspecialist wait times. At the time of referral, families are offered a telehealth appointment with an LCCN general pediatrician. LCCN pediatricians use guidelines developed with the subspecialists to initiate work up and treatment prior to the initial subspecialty visit.
Applicants must be Board certified in Pediatrics. The ideal candidate will have a history of providing top clinical care in an academic setting and participating in the training of both Pediatric residents and fellows. Fellowship training in general academic pediatrics and/or a masters level degree is preferred.
This position will be on the non-tenure eligible track; rank to be commensurate with experience and track record. The position offers a competitive salary and benefits package.
Interested candidates should:
Email a letter of interest and CV to Tomitra Latimer, MD, Medical Director of Lurie Children's Pediatrics at Deming and Clinical Practice Director for the Division of Advanced General Pediatrics and Primary Care (Tlatimer@luriechildrens.org).
Applications will be accepted until the position is filled.
The Division of Advanced General Pediatrics & Primary Care and the Department of Pediatrics are strongly committed to diversity. Equity is critical to the mission of advancing excellence in academic programs, world-class research, and health programs. As our healthcare and academic institutions serve increasingly diverse constituencies, it is vital to understand the ways in which differences in gender, class, race, ethnicity, religious affiliation, and other identities can either divide us or offer us better ways of thinking and working together. Racial and ethnic minority colleagues, transgender and non-binary people, sexual minorities, people with disabilities, and women provide necessary and valuable perspectives which are an irreplaceable component to success in the faculty role. The Department is committed to supporting faculty to work in an increasingly diverse society by promoting equity and justice for all individuals, actively working to eliminate barriers and obstacles created by institutional discrimination. Engagement in discrimination or harassment against any person because of race, color, sex, religion, national origin, ancestry, age, marital status, military service, disability, sexual orientation, and gender identity or expression will not be tolerated.
Northwestern University is an Equal Opportunity, Affirmative Action Employer of all protected classes, including veterans and individuals with disabilities. Women, racial and ethnic minorities, individuals with disabilities, and veterans are encouraged to apply. Hiring is contingent upon eligibility to work in the United States.
