The Center for Care Delivery and Outcomes Research (CCDOR) is a VA Health Services Research Center of Innovation (COIN) operating under the direction of the Office of Research and Development (ORD). CCDOR is part of the Minneapolis VA Healthcare System (MVHCS). The MVAHCS is an academic affiliate of the University of Minnesota, a leading research institution.
CCDOR’s mission is to develop and evaluate interventions and implementation strategies that improve health care delivery, Veteran engagement in health care and Veterans’ health and functioning in their communities
CCDOR’s vision is to elevate the quality, consistency, and equity of health care and outcomes for all Veterans through innovative health services and implementation research.

CCDOR will also advance research in additional areas and ensure a sustainable pipeline of highly qualified health services researchers.
Company History
Formerly known as the Center for Chronic Disease Outcomes Research, the Center for Care Delivery & Outcomes Research (CCDOR) has been a productive, interdisciplinary community of professionals since 1998, conducting innovative health services and implementation research intended primarily to improve health outcomes for Veterans with chronic disease.
Notable Accomplishments / Recognition
For 26 years, CCDOR has been a successful and productive community of interdisciplinary researchers. During fiscal year 20-23, CCDOR has averaged ~$13 million annually in external funding. Each year, CCDOR investigators publish over 135 peer-reviewed papers, including in high profile and prestigious journals such as the New England Journal of Medicine, the Journal of the American Medical Association, Annals of Internal Medicine, and Lancet. CCDOR research has been cited in the New York Times, Washington Post, CNN, other high-profile media outlets. Due to their expertise, CCDOR investigators are often sought out for their opinions and recommendations including participation in Congressional briefings. CCDOR investigators have also been nationally recognized with awards for their service. CCDOR research is contributing to substantial improvements in VA clinical practice, national health policy, HSR methods, and improved Veteran care.
